We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations, SST (Sales and Service Tax), and financial reporting standards. You will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting operations and ensuring compliance with all local statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Manage full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliation.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax laws, including corporate tax, SST, and withholding tax.
- Handle SST submissions, tax computations, and liaise with tax consultants/auditors as required.
- Monitor and control financial transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial reports and analysis for management decision-making.
- Assist with annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in Malaysia.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian taxation and SST regulations.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SQL, SAP, or equivalent).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Member of MIA (Malaysian Institute of Accountants) or pursuing a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
- Experience working in a mid-sized or multinational company is an advantage.
