The Lorry Driver will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of customer service. This role requires adherence to all traffic regulations, careful handling of cargo, and effective communication with clients and team members.
- Operate the lorry safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Ensure goods are delivered to customers and other specified locations on time and in good condition.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on the lorry to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring cargo is secure and properly handled.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes, logbooks, and any other required documentation.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, addressing any questions or concerns during deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures, including the proper handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
- Valid lorry driving license (e.g., Class E or GDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a lorry driver.
- SPM/PMR or relevant Certificate in the related field.
- Familiarity with the local and regional road networks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
