Job Title: System Engineer - Systems, Infrastructure & Security

About the Project:

Join us in implementing a cutting-edge Hospital Information System (HIS) for one of the region’s largest hospital networks. This mission-critical infrastructure will support a highly available, scalable environment capable of running both on-premises and cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Implementation & Support

Deploy and maintain infrastructure components such as Application Servers, Database Servers, Reporting Servers, and Disaster Recovery (DR) systems.

Assist with configuration and management of SQL Server Always On Availability Groups or Replication.

Ensure all systems align with architectural and operational guidelines.

Server & Network Configuration

Set up server hardware and storage as per project sizing specifications (CPU, RAM, Disk, RAID).

Configure network security components including firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs.

Collaborate with the networking team to ensure uptime and performance.

Monitoring & Maintenance

Utilize tools like SCOM or SolarWinds to monitor infrastructure performance and health.

Respond to system alerts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Carry out regular system patching, updates, and health checks.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Perform scheduled backup routines and validate data integrity.

Support DR testing and maintain synchronization between primary and DR sites.

Document and execute failover and recovery procedures.

Security & Compliance

Apply and enforce infrastructure security policies, access controls, and endpoint protection.

Participate in internal/external audits and vulnerability assessments.

Support encryption and compliance-related configurations.

Collaboration & Documentation

Work closely with Infrastructure Architects, DBAs, Application teams, and vendors.

Maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, asset inventories, and SOPs.

Assist in provisioning and testing new environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

5+ years in IT Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or related roles.

Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server installation and management.

Familiarity with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) configurations.

Proficient in Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Basic networking knowledge including firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs.

Experience with enterprise monitoring and ticketing systems.

Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):

Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

CompTIA Network+ or Security+

VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
