OVERVIEW OF ROLE


1. The Marine Coordinator has overall command of all the vessel and barge and the entire crew and is the owner's representative on board. The Marine Coordinator has the ultimate authority on all matters affecting safe navigation, the safety of all the vessel and barge, her crew, her cargo and the environment.


2. The Marine Coordinator shall, at all times, take all necessary steps and precautions to prevent accidents, minimize the consequences that could affect the vessel and barge, her cargo and the environment, for this purpose the Marine Coordinator has all the necessary authority, on behalf of the Managers/Owners of the vessel and barge.


3. The Marine Coordinator makes all of the vessel and barge and its services onboard available to the Charterer, who may be represented by PTP (Port of Tanjung Pelepas) Project Engineer. The Marine Coordinator to provide the PTP Project Engineer with all reasonable and lawful services within the safe operational capability of the Vessel/Barge and legal confines.


4. The Marine Coordinator is expected to contribute to create a positive HSEQ culture within Port of Tanjung Pelepas port limit and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Overall responsibility for safe navigation and communication of all of the vessel and barge whilst in operation, during pilotage, berthing and unberthing in port and lawful safe operation of all of the vessel and barge.


2. Overall responsibility for the safety and security of all of the vessel and barge and all personnel onboard and to ensure that safety regulations and precautions are adhered to.


3. Responsible to provide the services of all of the vessel and barge and its crew to the PTP designated personnel and assist in the timely execution of projects.


4. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Flag State, Classification Society, International and Local Rules and Regulations which affect the Safe Navigation, Safety of Personnel on-board and efficient operation of all of the vessel and barge.


5. Responsible for the overall management, planning, organization, and control of all of the vessel and barge activities.


6. Responsible to oversee the marine activities of the contractors and sub-contractors to ensure the marine assurance, coordination, and operations of the marine spread during the installation and commissioning works are carried out in accordance with plan & procedures and in adherence with safety & quality requirements.


7. Marine Coordinator will inspect and monitor all of the vessel and barge to ensure the related Marine activities are carried out safety in accordance with relevant procedures and guidelines.
